In September 2013 I started working for the Quakers. I deal with Parliamentary Engagement. If you’d like to contact me, email jessicam@quaker.org.uk or phone 020 7663 1107.
I’m speaking about the importance of women’s history at Housmans Bookshop. Why is the history of the UK, Europe and the world overwhelmingly male-dominated? What are we missing and why does it matter? And should we go about changing this through politics, through education, or as individuals? Followed by questions and discussion.
It’s 7pm on Wednesday 7 March at Housmans Radical Bookshop, 5 Caledonian Road, King’s Cross, London N1 9DX. Entry is £3, which is refunded if books are bought during that visit.
I’ve got an article in the Autumn 2011 edition of The Source, a newletter published by the Women’s Resource Centre. I’m on page 13, talking about how working in partnerships can help small groups to influence policy.
I’ll be running the first of my workshops (Politics and Parliament) at the Feminist Library on 16 November 2011. It starts at 6:30pm and I expect it to last between ninety minutes and two hours. While I’m offering this for free, the Feminist Library would be grateful for a small donation of around £2 or £3 per person. Contact the Feminist Library to sign up!
I will be giving a workshop at the UK Feminista Conference at Birmingham University on 13 August 2011. To enquire about the conference, visit the UK Feminista website.
